An NFT conference used UV sanitizing bulbs as black lights which lead to a lot of attendees getting bad eye pain and other symptoms of being blasted directly by UV light for extended periods of time. Then folks started worshipping the lights and the arc within them.
Oh, it's from THAT? Okay I was definitely not connecting the bit to the source.
The sad thing is no jokes we make can possibly be funnier than what actually happened.
