If someone pretty roughly hits my car with their door, looks me in the face and walks off, is that a dare? Am I being invited to do something?
Was a huge glob of spit on their door handle a fit reply or should I have gone farther? I don't understand how to navigate this kind of social interaction and I want to keep it appropriate for next time
i would have at least taken pictures of the damage for insurance claims. if he drives off, that's a hit and run
Someone did this to me in the parking lot at Lowe's. I got out to look at the damage and the 6-foot sunglasses-wearing middle-aged Dude in spotless white Toms said, "Your car's too scratched to even tell," then chuckles and starts to walk off. I, a 5' nothing woman, yelled at him, "YOUR LIFE IS TOO SCRATCHED!!" then got back in my car and drove off before he could respond. I don't know if it was the right insult, but I felt better about it. And I could totally tell where that scratch was! I buffed it out later.
Right or wrong insult it's cool that you were able to fire it off immediately. I had to spend five minutes considering my next move before settling on "petty revenge".
I miss having a car that was genuinely trashed looking because I didn't have anything to lose by just using my own door to slam right back into theirs..
