trying to learn how to crochet because i have a bunch of yarn laying around from when i was more into knitting, but learning that the one major way that knitting and crocheting differs is how much your fingers handle the yarn you're working with and turns out i hate the texture of the yarn i had. i got some different yarn when i went out today and immediately im having a better time because i can actually bear to have this yarn slide over my fingers lol

hell yea my friend!! crochet has been a good time for me lately im literally working on a pot holder rn LOL if you want some yarn recs I am in no way an expert but I am very picky about having yarn that feels nice to the touch!!

unfortunately for me as a former knitter, wrapping my head around crocheting is a bit harder to understand how patterns work lol. i ended up getting some lion brand "lazy days" skeins which are basically a small cloth tube and im probably gonna end up with a hand made weighted blanket at the end of this because of it. idk how much crocheting i'll do in the future but i would welcome some yarn recs!

I really like the socalled "thick and quick" super bulky yarns from lion, because they work up fast as hell and whatever you make has a great feeling of SUBSTANCE to it. Killer for hats, scarves, probably a bit spendy for blankets since you'd need SO MANY but that would be one nice heavy snuggly blanket. I've got stuff that I crocheted ten years ago out of that and wore all the time still going strong.
