I was watching episodes of Julia child the other day and she had Martha Stewart on - Martha in her early twenties I think, practically brand new - and she makes a wedding cake. And it's buttercream, no fondant ANYWHERE, with all the edible fake fruit made from marzipan instead of rock hard fondant shit
It was really pretty and actually looked extremely tasty, and a cake that's actually wholly edible and not covered in "technically edible" rock hard sugar clay is so nice compared to the current Fondant Everywhere rule everyone seems to follow
I guess if you don't like marzipan (or cake) it's still only technically edible, but still, but still
