so I will share it here

I made this at my plastic shop a few years back

3/8 & 1/4" ABS, 1/4" white acrylic lid

the blue tape makes the lid fit just snug enough to not need magnets or other fasteners but still come off easily. I can turn this upside down and nothing spills out.

I'm thinking about modifying it to have some hinged feet and a lip so I can use it as a portable easel.

He can sell his CDs from the front and keep the coin in the back. These are made from acrylite resist, a hybrid material that blends acrylic and polycarbonate to give you a beautiful high clarity surface that bonds well and can be polished, while still retaining some of poly's incredible strength and resilience to impacts. This is my second set - I made two out of regular acrylic a few years back and I guess he liked them!

Edit

Hey, if you are an artist who does conventions, would a box like this be useful to you? Or something similar? What do convention artists need?

That's a slab of 3" acrylic, with sanded edges, with a ~1-1.5" blind hole drilled or routed into the edge for the light to sit in. I could make this.

Bout $250 worth of materials.

Beautiful, minimal design. Those edges probably glow nice and warm in a dark room.
