i'm working on an OSR-esque dungeon delver ttrpg and in order to test some of the mechanics i needed to throw together some quick themed dungeons. thus was born my Simple Dungeon Generator (SDG), a couple of tables i could roll some dice on to basically make a writing prompt out of and then build a place to explore. a friend said they liked what i was making with it, so here's the tables out on my itch.io for you to try out too! it's pay what you want so just go ham my man (gender neutral).
some of the things i've written based on the generator:
A resting place for people that engage in a practice of having their bodies immortalized in glass coffins. This practice has fallen out of favor due to the cost and space. The founder of the technique is buried here, along with his magical research notes on how to perform the process. Something lurks in the crypt that is dangerous to the resting bodies... it melts glass.
The castle was host to a king that founded a religion based on blood. The windows are all enchanted to shine a gorgeous afternoon light depicting imagery of his ascent to power. Within is the last resident of the castle, a spirit that was the last sacrifice ever made on the castle grounds.
i was tired of all of the other dungeon generators that were so specific or so vague that i couldn't use it for my specific ttrpg. the tables work like a writing prompt generator and you just mash up the results and categories until you have a place that suits what constitutes your setting or campaign.
there's also a dungeon size generator but i haven't even tested that and i don't recommend actually ever using it because exploring d100 floors with d100 rooms sounds like it'd be a nightmare.
