I've been having a LOT of trouble in this game to be honest.
I feel like I earn money very slowly. I've gotten a couple health pickups, and gained a little bit of favor from the gods, but like, I feel like I'm still incredibly fragile, and a full set of leather armor and a mace doesn't seem to be doing that much to help, due to the speed penalties adding up. I feel like I am choosing between getting hit multiple times per attack, or being even more fragile than I already am.

I left my session in a somewhat similar position (same gear even, lol) and I suspect that what I need is to 1) try to earn a little cash hauling trade goods around to high demand places so I can afford the best gear for my statline, and 2) probably commit harder to a god/build

trying to split the difference means I can't dodge or sneak, always get hit, but haven't put on enough armor to handle hitting hit. when I get off work I'm gonna be tinkering with how to make this transition, which thankfully mostly seems to involve what gear I'm wearing

I'd love to know if you figure it out! I found a way to get infinite divine tears, but it's very very clearly a bug, because it's a floor treasure that respawns every time I exit and re-enter, so I've... Not, been doing that after I realized what was happening. getting set on fire constantly in dungeons that dont have easy access to water pools has been another consistent problem

I tripled down on heavy arms and armor and dedicated myself to the angels and the difference was INCREDIBLE. prep Retribution, Leap of Faith into a crowd and cast Purging Cross for a big 100 damage AOE and the rest is mop-up. Retribution also awesome for slugfests with big enemies, the 50% cost cut and god boons (I assume every god boon) are really big swings

For anyone else reading! I figured out some major ones!!! Your 3 main skills that you should bind (you can bind the god skills to hotkeys by pressing 1 through 0 while hovering over them, same with potions) are

GASH, BLOODY FEAST, and CONVERSION.

GOD ENERGY REGENERATES EACH TIME YOU LAND AN ATTACK.

Gash works on anything with blood, is a 1 hit kill (over time) and gets you blood phials. Interact with an empty potion bottle and you can mix blood with any herb to get new potions. Bloody feast is a direct attack that, again, works on anything with blood, and gives you instantly about 100 health.

Conversion turns each status effect you are currently afflicted by into about 70 health each, and lowers all of the meters for them, including ones that haven't filled up.

between these three, your survivability skyrockets, and skills can be used very often.

After you get a few rosetta stones, you can identify stuff until you figure out the item Broken Minor Construct. For about 5 ancient scrap you can turn it into a deactivated minor construct, each of which sells for almost 2000.

Does Roche mention where the fuck the tether is when he gives you the bell? I managed to follow up on the bell and have five names but I have no idea where to actually use them. The place in the southeast corner of the map is where I thought it would be but it doesnt seem to work so Im at a loss

I also completed this step tonight and he didn't specify when I first talked or when I went back to check in but I'm assuming it's solvable from what we already know. and I have a guess:
