Alright, I did some different settings, some I've never tried before. I tried to set 750 jobs, which would only give me magic guys, but I might not have clicked it on correctly or something because this ain't it. Oh well. I also set Meteor which gives purely random jobs, and fifth job which makes you switch out one of your jobs with another once you get Krile a good ways into the game.
I think I'll be playing this in Pixel Remake and I think I'll be using a mod to unlock all jobs from the start. Cheating, but for a reason. Thoughts on my job list:
Dancer is a supremely squishy melee class. Sort of? It's nothing special, but it's not a liability or anything. The damage it can do is kinda unreliable due to the RNG nature of the !Dance command but it comes with some utility, such as the ability to equip ribbons. Immunity to all status effects! I've made it work plenty of times. This time, I'm going to be doing the early game with one, which is absolutely not intended. Dancer is normally in the last set of jobs you unlock. I have no idea how that's going to go but I assume it won't be that different from thief. Pixel gave this one a lot of buffs, one of which got rolled back but it should still be nice. Will probably get my chicken knife.
Berserker is the same as before, big damage you can't control. If I was not playing a cheat mod with all jobs unlocked I'd have to do a chunk of the game with four of them and uuuuuuuuuuuugh no. I just used one so it's getting the boot when I unlock Ninja. I already used Ninja too but it's more fun.
Blue Mage lol. lmao. This one's busted as hell. I'll have to do a little catch-up after unlocking but in general I'm not worried. This guy tends to bend the run around itself but I am in the mood to do busted things this time.
Mystic Knight I have not used since my very first run! A lot of the bugs that made it sicko are not in Pixel version but it can still slug things out as a melee fighter and do some real sicko stuff to a few bosses.
Ninja is one I just finished using but having a magic class, even one like Blue Mage which doesn't have super high magic, will give it's throwing scrolls a boost. Except those scrolls aren't as interesting since I have blue and won't have access to Ninja until late. Oh well. It still has some good utility skills and damage potential and I will gladly swap out berserker for it.
Going to start this run tomorrow
