I have a lot of thoughts about how Kirk is constantly sleeping with alien babes in the reboot movies, which is a thing in TOS but this depiction of it is clearly informed more by the memes about it than the actual show. Of course if I wrote this essay I would be a nerd
I'm still incredibly let down by the fact that just as they got this crew functioning and a solid writer helming it we have the tragic death of Anton Yelchin and it all goes to shit
I know that the license was a tremendous boondoggle during this period and we're in a nice place again, but yikes. YIKES, what a cursed era for Trek.
This is all very true and now that we jumped into watching season 3 of Discovery a bit I'm like damn modern TV is a travesty
a) oh if you think DIS is the worst I have terrible news b) at least literally every other show right now is good (with the exception of The Cursed One, Picard)
It's honestly incredible how bad Picard is. They got John DeLancy back and it still sucked. That's impossible. It defies the human imagination
I am so deathly afraid of what Picard S3 can do to top S2 in terms of badness. I'm not crossing that threshold. I will let other people be my canary in that coal mine and I'm just gonna lol and/or lmao as they choke on it while I look down the shaft safely
