Explainer - Sedenya, major moon goddess who transgresses her setting in numerous ways, used to be (or the part of her who was named Sedenya used to be - long story) the local sun goddess of Mernita, and she and her city refused to bow to the male sun god Antirius and were destroyed. Eventually she came back as a powerful moon goddess, and eclipsed Antirius in his own lands.

Some fandom people say there is nothing trans about all this, amazingly enough.
