idk why anyone would be disappointed or whatever at how “predictable” the evo lineup is. of course it’s predictable. is this not what evo has been since like 2012? it’s the place for all the most popular, noteworthy and monied games of the moment. it’s basically been a trade show with some tournaments incidentally attached to it for the better part of a decade. i’m not sure what anyone was expecting

Honestly I just hope EVO2025 mixes things up or something with like 5 mainstream picks and a Retro,Poverty,Indie/Ikemen and even a Charity or Voted pick for the 8th spot(I'd take KOFXV being axed if this actually happens too)
I'm really not holding my breath though, I don't see EVO chilling on the gas en route to full on esport-corporacy shit any time soon sadly

I think the only time it's surprising is when some game just gets dropped after a year and even then like, eh
EVO lost all cred with me as "community" event the year the new MK got into the lineup despite being released like month prior.
