for the record, my cheeks got beat like a pop n' music machine at Game WILL's project justice session. It was great.
It's really funny that I have a tournament win over the EVO champ and regularly pull 50-50 or better with him in casuals, then I go over to Japan and at best pull 1-5 with any random player and went at worst 1-10 multiple times lmao. They have tech that is just straight up not documented anywhere on the internet and are light years ahead of us in that game. I learned so much and it was that shot in the arm of the old arcade experience my bones have missed for literal years. I hated that I had to leave, eventually, and hated more that my Japanese was not really good enough to communicate meaningfully with anyone.
Luckily, we all communicated very well in game, which is one of those magical things that really only exists in long sets. They were a delightful group and really enjoyed playing. This is why I came to Japan, sucks it took me three weeks to make it happen
