A Chart I Worked Out Myself. It was for the TTRPG system I was developing based off the Fallout franchise. It was one of my favorite ideas I came up with. In short, your Stat would decide your Talent Die which was to be used for other stats and checks. Example: Endurance decided HP growth. So with a 5, you would roll a d8+1(avg:5.5) and with a 10, d12+4(avg:10:5). I liked it because it made each point so important. I had different methods for character creation too. Even ideas for +10 stats.
Of course, this post was just about learning how to do css crimes. I just needed something worth posting.
| S.P.E.C.I.A.L. Stat | Talent Die |
|---|---|
| 0 | d2-1 |
| 1 | d4-1 |
| 2 | d4+0 |
| 3 | d6+0 |
| 4 | d6+1 |
| 5 | d8+1 |
| 6 | d8+2 |
| 7 | d10+2 |
| 8 | d10+3 |
| 9 | d12+3 |
| 10 | d12+4 |
A few years ago I got really into TTRPG and specifically DnD5e. I joined a few servers and played I few games, but I was wanting something more to my taste. I liked DnD5e, but it was always so stiff which made it real easy to break. So I would always be a Roleplay Heavy character surrounded by gigachads dealing triple digits of damage which they had to be because the DM always sent uberbeasts that could down everyone in a single turn with an AOE aura of Fuck You.
Another thing was that I'm a huge fan of Fallout. I played Fallout 3 back on the Xbox and loved the series ever since. Fallout 1 and 2 were fun to play and New Vegas was great. Even if it did infect the internet with New Vegas Brain Rot. Fallout 4 was disappointing but still fun. And so I wanted to try to build an original TTRPG system from scratch based around the Fallout franchise.
