To put in simplest of terms, there's no "baby speak" phase in adult language learning. Everything is "get it right right now" then they move on to another part with the same demand. Even the "natural learning" programs do this. Every mistake must be repeated again and again and again and again, and you’re never allowed to just... babble your way through.

They say the way to learn French is to move to France, but that kind of proves my point. Because when you live in a language, you're not being taught, and you're not expected to be perfect. I mean, do you know how many words to just fuk up everyday? A lot, and it's super noticeable when you listen a recording, but never in the moment. So long as you get your point across it's all good.

This is entirety of a baby's "babble phase" where they swing sounds together until they make words. I would imagine Living in a language is the same way. You just make basic vowels sounds until your understandable and build on that.

I want to see that from language learning programs. Not a "you failed, do it again" but "that's wrong, but close enough, moving on" and then revisiting it later when I more experienced. Build up, then refine.
