If anyone still watches RWBY there was scene where Ruby reaches her limit and breaks and starts ranting at anyone and yells at Blake and Yang and I've seen so many "Based Ruby?" memes where they laser focus on the fact she yelling at two lesbiens(because it is always lesbiens) rather than general mental state.
Why?
Because homophobia. Just plain and simple. Yet those same people will claim slippery slope and deny the fight for marriage equality. But that the Redhats for you: Project and reflect.
I also sympathize with meme, because it's just so on point with IRL treatment. You say anything bad about queer people, unless the comment fully separate from their queerness, you get labeled a bigot.
I was anti Korrassmi back in the day because it was out of the blue and also too yellow belly to go full on, in short it wasn't good enough, and I got treated like a bigot on both sides. And the only side I could tell to fuck off was the one slapping me on back.
