We do this often enough that we've lost a lot of people over it... just because we're completely unable to explain how our love isn't just platonic but it also has nothing to do with relationships.

It's legitimately romantic attraction but just not in a relationship way, not even in a polyamorous way, it's literally just a feeling that we have for everyone. Trying to communicate this just digs us into a really deep hole.

Whenever someone notices this—and it invariably becomes something that must be solved or else they feel uncomfortable that we're hitting on them or something—we'll always keep trying to clarify it further but only end up making it look like a confusing mess or some sort of lie.

Just, bleh...

The word "love" is broken and useless imo, that's why I stopped using it

I mean I'm not going to judge you if the word still has actual value to you obviously but with an experience like that I'm surprised you haven't simply given up on it too like I did
