Got a letter from insurance asking my psychiatrist for additional documentation for our latest appointment. They've given me shit for my gender-affirming surgery, of course, but this is a new one.
And what makes that appointment different from all the others?
Why, me being disassociated AF is now on the record! So I guess insurance hates that!
I checked the notes and I don't have a formal diagnosis of DID, OSDD or anything else, but it did say I have "severe disassociation" and it's "sufficient to cause inappropriate behavior or maladaptive function."
But I still have ADHD, MDD, GAD, and GID. And that doctor is still seeing me for those and treating me for them (aka refilling my scripts). So...is insurance mad because I don't actually have a formal diagnosis? What a fucking weird situation we're in.
