Someone actually made a mod like that a long time ago! It's called the "More Fun Quicksand Mod" by MrBlackGoo.

Unfortunately, it was never updated past 1.7.10. The main focus is quicksand, but there are also other goopy materials and slimes that'll swallow you up!
