shout out to not bothering with "web frameworks" (idk what that even is lol (no, don't explain it to me (seriously, do not, i dont want to hear it))) or "static site generators" or whatever else, and just writing websites by paw on a neocities

shout out to all the little inconsistencies and quirks that build up over time with doing that. shout out to charming and innocuous technical debt of a well loved personal project, to clicking a link and suddenly being on a much older version of the site's aesthetic

I have spent a bit of time upgrading our use of a static site generator at work. And then we threw it out for a different flavor of the day SSG...

i have taken web dev quite seriously and i still don't understand web frameworks, they look like they would be almost always actively bad in multiple ways

static site generators are fine but i'm gonna need to create my own because i don't like the things i can find and other people should also probably usually be creating their own because it's probably the easiest tool to create (i could probably do it quite fast but i am not doing that because i don't do things)
