In the context of threads this makes sense but if it's just a single shared post with no other posts added it seems to me it would make significantly more sense to just remove the whole thing from my feed than having this float there

Please do not call us "alters", we are full people with our own souls, not just personality states! We say "system members" or just "members". "People" works too!

i think that goes away if you refresh the timeline? i could be misremembering though
That would be fine if it hung around for a little bit and then vanished, but this one seems to be sticking around. Maybe the sticking time got bumped up a bit, or something.
we're honestly in favor of it. we notify people when we delete posts (unless there's some incredibly important reason we can't, which has never yet happened on Cohost) because we know lots of our followers have dissociative memory issues, as we do, and we don't want to mess with anyone's sense of reality.
That's reasonable, but in this instance it is a post being shared onto my feed, not someone I actually follow, so here it's just cruft.
