it's hard to really put into words how all of this makes me feel. doubly so since i've already not been having a great time, but regardless... guess this is the end of the line.

what happens now:
so right before these news, i had made plans for a kind of grand celebration of reaching emmnanigans number 50. i was planning on writing a bigger thing, sort of tying together a bunch of disjointed omni OCs, but with closing time looming over us, i guess i'll go about it a bit differently. still a bigger thing ofc, but moreso one that... wraps everything up. it's gonna be meta, it's gonna be sentimental, and i'm not gonna give a shit lmao
and afterwards... i guess that'll be it. if i get any cool commissions or gifts i might post them, but otherwise, i'm gonna turn my attention towards finding new communities. my content on here was very dependent on cohost tools and CSS, so i can't really port it over nor continue it on other big platforms, at least not ones that allow kinky 18+ stuff. ofc stuff like stories and commissions will find a new home somewhere down the line, but otherwise... you probably won't see my characters for a while, at least outside discord servers and my AD twitter.
cohost was something incredibly special. without being coated in nostalgia and rose tinted glasses, i feel like it managed to recreate a web 2.0 feel that no other site has. open without being exposed, alive without being overwhelming, active without being all-consuming etc. a place where i could indulge in my weird niches and not only find like-minded people, but entire communities. when i first made an account here, i had expected to just write a couple bigger posts, but now i've got several characters and a whole shitpost series going, and most importantly, i now know all of you guys. <3
i don't want to lose this, for all in the world. but i know how these things work, and i know that everyone will scatter to the winds. communities will break up and people will lose contact, as everyone finds whatever is the next best thing for them. despite all of this though, i am so glad that we had this for a moment. this one weird moment of making CSS-reliant posts about omnipotent eeveelutions, reality-bending rabbits, and size-defying cats, and making connections with like-minded weirdos on this little site that could.
