A metal skeleton, human in form, is suspended in the tank of viscous fluid. A strange looking metal sphere with 8 clear windows on its surface is placed where the heart would go, were this an organic, human body. Veiny tubes wind through the skeleton like blood vessels, connecting to this sphere. The skull is opened, a synthetic brain placed within, and then it is welded shut. Carbon-black artificial muscles are layered over the body, followed by innumerable tiny patches of a translucent blue material that stick themselves together before suddenly shifting to look like skin. Black hair is attached to where the scalp should be. The eyelids are opened and a pair of silvery spheres are placed within.
A few minutes pass in silence once the automated system completes its work. A vibrant purple light, seemingly with no source, passes through the wall without a sound, streaking rapidly into the tank. The body within lays still as the light enters its heart, before suddenly all its muscles twitch. The eyes open and are glowing with that light as the tank drains and opens.
"Ugh, these new bodies always feel so stiff," he says, stepping from the small chamber and reaching for a nearby towel. "I really need to look at fixing that. Later. Once this is dealt with."
Once he's cleaned the fluid off himself he steps over to a nearby closet, pulling out several pieces of clothing and putting them on - a shirt, underwear, pants, socks, shoes, a jacket. The closet shuts on its own after he leaves it, and the lights shut off as he steps out of the room. As the door shuts, the tank reseals itself and begins the construction process anew.
