i'm so fucking tired of random discord users tbh
i'm easily annoyed by pings from random people with useless, unimportant replies like "me when" or whatever. and the people that do this tend to have one of three reactions to being asked to stop:
- doubling down, pinging me more as "retribution" or whatever for... being asked not to be annoying little shits
- ignoring me asking them to stop and just acting like any message they don't want to listen to doesn't exist
- telling me "just turn on do not disturb lol" as if i don't want to be pinged for anything, which is not the case - I specifically don't want pings for random bullshit replies from annoying strangers
and no matter the reaction, they'll always find some way to spin it so it's my problem, not theirs. even though with the options currently available on discord, they are the only ones with the ability to stop the pings without me just blocking them. because somehow, every asshole on that entire platform is a manipulative bastard.
anyway this is why my discord blocklist is like a mile long. i've started just blocking annoying people rather than letting them continue to annoy me. if a guild gets past 50% of active users blocked, i leave.
and i wouldn't even have this problem if discord had some option to suppress pings from people replying to your messages specifically. or just, you know, had the ping on replying to a message default to off.
