some common pieces of paradisian clothing:

  • leg coverings: predominantly cloth wrapped around the waist just below the tail, often secured with a belt that loops around above the tail. frequently features pockets hidden just under the outside of the fabric. other styles of legwear are fairly uncommon due to difficulty with getting pants past their claws and so on.
  • tailbags: bags and pouches that are mounted on the base of the tail for storing more cumbersome items that wouldn't easily fit in regular pockets, or that need to be secure if the wearer happens to be flipped upside down.
  • wing wraps: usually seen in colder weather. as the wings double as a heat dispersal mechanism, they're usually wrapped up if it's cold to keep the paradisian warm, alongside thick coats with sealable gaps up the back to accomodate the wings - one of the very few cases where they cover their upper body with clothing outside of where their culture has mixed with those of other worlds.
  • scale paint: like body paint, designed to adhere to a paradisian's scales. usually applied in complex patterns with varying cultural meaning or significance. while certain patterns are reserved for special occasions or have particular meanings, such as one for advertising that the wearer is available romantically or one usually worn on the anniversary of the wearer's hatching, there are plenty of patterns that are purely decorative and serve as ornamentation.
  • piercings and adornments: it's very common to see a paradisian wearing accessories of various precious metals and gemstones, such as necklaces, rings, bracelets and so on. piercings of the ear-fin membranes are also very common, as are metal bands wrapped around the horns.
