on oc stuff my favorite little unnecessary bit of flare i have erick put into any 'basic' spell he uses for fighting things is just. producing the initial spark of energy for lightning spells at the tip of his finger as he snaps his fingers, making it look like his hand is engulfed in electricity as it channels along the path of ionized air he's made to its targets
