i think genuinely the most lame trope in alien invasion media is "the aliens are weak to something we have in super abundance on earth"
like, if you die if you touch water. why'd you come to planet covered 70% in water then idiot.
if you die to some weak ass bacteria. where's your bioengineering or environmental exclusion suits or something dumbass
just makes these aliens that managed to figure out FTL travel and such look stupid, also means we don't get action scenes of people kicking some alien ass etc which is like half the fun
like, maybe individuals make stupid mistakes. but how's this sorta shit not get caught in the planning phase.
