i dont know if anyone here is good at sudoku puzzles but im trying to help a friend with one they encountered in a game and its hurting my brain a bit
im working on re-creating it in ms paint purely to make it a little easier to work with

specifically it's kinda wonky in that:
the areas you want to fill with 1 unique thing per cell are not in the standard layout, and
instead of having 9 things you can use (1-9) it has 11. each area, row, and column needs 9 unique ones, allowing you to leave two out of each. they're represented as colors (white, blue, brown, lime, magenta, green, red, yellow, light gray, purple, and dark gray)

Hmmm. Upon further review, I don't think this is supposed to be possible to solve without some additional information. Are you sure those were all the rules for this puzzle?

This is what I noticed too - it seems like there'd be more than one valid solution that fits all the rules. But I guessed that maybe this game just wants you to find one of them and it isn't really a logic puzzle.

If that's the case, I'll come up with a solution that satisfies a few extra rules of my own creation just for the added challenge ^^

I've got what might be a solution here (in its own post so I don't spoil it if anybody else wants to attempt it without help)
