nobody asked but i feel like sharing.
so, i have various textural issues when it comes to food. if it's got a bad texture it makes me physically gag. just putting this as a preface for the following.
here's how i construct my burgers, layer by layer:
top bun (both this and the bottom bun are toasted and lightly buttered)
bacon strips (cooked until not quite crispy)
cheese slice (i like gouda for this)
meat patty (seasoned with steak seasoning mix that includes salt and pepper as well as garlic powder and a couple other things i don't recall off the top of my head)
sauces (i do a mixture of mayonnaise and barbecue sauce)
bottom bun
