I enjoy doing worldbuilding a lot and have a big sci-fi setting with magic I've been building for over a decade now
i know it's probably just the game abstracting away some stuff, but i like to imagine that the way dwarf fortress characters smooth out rough stone walls and floors is just licking them
this is made funnier by the fact that the main stone type throughout much of my current fortress is rock salt
