We have entered the twilight hours of Cohost.
For the past two to three weeks, I have been thinking of an eloquent, succinct way of expressing my final thoughts on the site. What I thought would be straightforward, has turned out to be a large hurdle. Namely, I haven't fully accepted that the site is shuttering permanently in a few hours. I don't want to. The announcement was too shocking, too soon.
But alas, life has gone otherwise.
To summarize: I wish I participated more on the site, instead of merely lurking and re-chosting. It's the only social site which consistently felt welcoming throughout. Where I didn't have to worry about keeping my guard up. Where interactions felt genuine. Where the vast majority of most people felt human.

Finally, I would not call this site a failure, merely a temporary joy in the ravages of life. I believe there will be sites and communities similar to this in the future. Ones that use the lessons learned here and build off of them.
Cohost will live on in our hearts and minds. Through all the bonds and memories we forged here. Thank you everyone.
