I can't imagine ever shipping brnine and cori, but I do think about cori having a whole mess of feelings about brnine that are this big jumble of respect and admiration and the desire to be someone's equal and family and dedication to a cause and thinking the way they wield authority is cool etc etc... And all of that gets bundled up in the head of someone who likes to watch period dramas, and basically cori becomes convinced that it is a crush and goes around mooning over the captain for a few months, and then fifteen years later it comes back to her at some random moment while she's doing the dishes or whatever and she fully wants to die she's so embarrassed.
