I'm not gonna rechost this one too much because it's heavy, but since I did write this to be half therapy, half PSA on the dangers of being incautious with hypnosis and playing with people you don't trust implicitly, I'm going to share a few times in case someone sees it who needs it.

thank you for having clear warnings, and also for sharing your story. as someone who dabbles in hypno it can be worrying to see people treat it as more harmless than it really is, so its a good reminder of Why we should all be careful about consent and abuse in the community. even so, i'm sorry y'all went through that and i'm glad you got out of that situation

I... gosh I'm so sorry 🫂 Thank you for sharing this. One of my former hypnodommes was abused through hypnosis, and through her I developed a lot of the safeties I give my subjects, but this makes me realise that there is still more that I can do to fully and completely build a safe and fun environment for my subjects to enjoy hypnosis with me

i really appreciate you writing it for that purpose too. i wish it were easier to share this kind of advice with people who need it, and that the lessons weren't so hard-learned, but hopefully this helps folks get and stay safe with their hypno that otherwise didn't realize the risks. (let alone the danger of a teen unwittingly ending up in that kind of dynamic with an adult, which i really wish it were easier to educate people on)

I'm so sorry.

I've never been interested in hypnosis so it wasn't something I was going to seek out, but I hadn't heard any specific accounts of abuse involving it either. Now I think it's a good thing for people who aren't interested to hear about as well so that they can watch out for friends who may be into it. Thank you for sharing this.

Not up to reading the whole thing, but saw the thing about you can’t be hypnotized to do something you don’t want to do, and how someone hates that. That’s supposed to counter the idea that hypnosis is a magic coercion button that can compel anyone to do anything, but it’s stated so broadly it’s hugely misleading. As a tool alongside other techniques of manipulation it is enormously powerful and dangerous.
