@CERESUltra asked:

Meeting a washed up Anubis in a bar and he's got a grudge he's nursing with his mead

I am refusing this prompt outright because the only thing that is correct here is that Anubis would have a grudge, but I do not and dare not say against who [mostly because I don't know shit].

Anubis washed up. Boy's coded to be sexy death god.

Washed up doesn't mean not sexy, just saying.

The reason I threw this out there is I always imagine the gods of religions no longer in any major favor still being immortal, but with substantially reduced power due to a lack of true followers. The image of gods turning up in bars down on their luck and begrudging the new or more influential faiths is one that's been in my head a long time.

Like, picture him, somewhere not a dive but not fancy, still exuding the energy of a diety and still the hottest person you've ever seen in your life, moping into his honeyed beer that formaldehyde just isn't the same and he's sick of rich white people freezing themselves, like they aren't coming back and he hates dealing with them and he's crying on your shoulder because there's all this sexy art of him online but no one really believes in him any more, he's just a 5000 year old washed up gay dog—

Counter-argument, my wife is worshiping Anubis and as such I have found a rather chill group of Kemetics who are still cool with jqlboi.

Mind I'm also violently not Christian and very animist and tend to view the whole "not as worshiped" thing as an illusion pushed on us by Big Gun Toting Jesus to discredit the other gods.

I mean I meant more than Islam holds a massive sway over most the Middle East now, Hinduism and Buddhism are both hugely practiced over the eastern hemisphere, and honestly christianity is the least who I had in mind for this scenario. I'd almost take offense at the idea that you think that's the direction I'm going for.

Buddhism can be applied over multiple different faiths including Shinto, Hellenism, and Kemetic. I've met some Buddhist Jews who are still practicing Judaism.

And while Islam is a thing, I do not know the propaganda of faith in context of the middle east.

Further, Hinduism is an unique case that I can't go further on without speaking out my ass, so I shant.

I contend that Anubis isn't washed up. Just more aware of the other folks at the office these days.
