so technically, I would write about this as a story, but this one I don't really have an idea to approach as.
so I'm going to actually talk about it like a world building prompt. this is for my own setting that I've always had kicking around in the back of my head as a heads up.
but the basics are there are several synths who are born and always have been synth. always metal, wires, and oil. most are very fine with that current range of affairs. why question what works you know?
but there are some, several really, who want to know what it's like to be organic. now when I say want to know, I want to make it clear it's in the same breath as "I wonder what it's like to be a girl" and proceeds to fantasize about it [let me body myself godsdamnit]. for some that's the end of it. a passing fancy, but we're not here to talk about them.
no instead what if this synthetic being wants to be organic.
in my setting there are options.
the basics is a full body resleeve. now what that is that consciousness and body can be easily separated without detriment. so, in the case of the synth with organic dysphoria they'd be given a biosynthetic body, i.e. a vat grown body. their consciousness would be removed from the mechanical body and inserted into the synthetic one.
