hey! i'm gonna teach my boyfriend how to build a computer tomorrow! all the parts are here!
and then on sunday we're seeing the dead milkmen, whose earlier cancellation allowed me to socialize with friends safely in a world where a global pandemic is largely ignored by society!
It's not detecting the spinning rust drive but the m.2 was there so I'll troubleshoot that later
edit: It was just a loose sata cable, i reseated it and all is good
OK the last piece of this puzzle was I could not get the onboard wifi working. I could run another ethernet cable up to Zac's office but because I haven't done it proper that would mean three ethernet cables just running up the stairs and under a throw rug in the hallway.
Turns out gigabyte in their infinite wisdom is hosting THE WRONG FUCKING DRIVERS ON THEIR WEBSITE and I was only able to figure this out because there are months of reddit threads of people who cannot get their wifi to work on AMD chipsets.
death grips has logged on (that's me) (i'm the proverbial death grips)
