Making a wager with a fae is like making a wager at a casino. The fae will pretend the odds are fair, but it's well known that fae's pulling every stop in ways you can't see. There are of course rules, ostensibly provided in your tongue, that govern exactly what ways the fae is allowed to swindle you; but frankly you've got to take it in good faith that those are being adhered to.

And yet, you just keep coming back. And I can't help but wonder, is it some dogmatic kind of hope, or do you actually enjoy losing?
