clearly we need to take a page from rojava and instead think of them as "css problems" that need to be dealt with by a local council of css minders to talk things through and resolve any css issues that arise (this is a joke but also I do appreciate the difference between "problems" and "crimes" with the understanding that like 90% of things can be solved by talking them out and coming to an agreement that the community is okay with, about css, of course)
💜💜💜 for real tho listening to this podcast episode about a council of older women who the local journalist called "The Mamas" dealing with neighbourhood problems w/o needing to bother with calling the cops or whatever was genuinely heartwarming and hopeful (starts around 30 mins in, depending on the ads) ep 3 of the series talks about the difference between crimes and problems when interviewing a local judge https://www.iheart.com/podcast/1119-the-womens-war-59464911/episode/grandma-law-and-revolutionary-sacrifice-61525359/
I support the expansion of community-based CSS rehabilitation programs as an alternative to CSS criminalization. The War on CSS must end!
