Echo is a fae spirit inhabiting the body of a plush toy bat—in other words, a poppet. It doesn't remember much of its existence prior to channeling itself into its vessel. It got its name from its vessel's label. When separated from its vessel, Echo's spirit continues to hold its vessel's shape, a testament to how strongly bonded it has become.
It spends most of its time in it's anthro form (shown above), ~3ft. tall and capable of moving itself. It can also leave it's vessel, as alluded to above, although it generally doesn't want to. Finally, it can revert its vessel to its natural state, and immobile toy of average size. This is the form it typically takes while asleep.
It acts as a friendly trickster fae, generally meaning no harm in its play. It's somewhat easily flustered, especially when reminded of its toyish nature. It is just as confused as anyone else as to how going through a washing machine can be pleasurable.
Echo is nonbinary, and I imagine its sense of gender is heavily tied to its current body. It's slightly out of alignment with me in that bats / plushies are only peripherally gender for me, where they're primary for Echo. As it stands, Echo's one of two OCs I'd definitively call a sona, and its gender and sexuality hew very close to my own.
Echo has two sources of power it can utilise: fae magicks, and imagination. It's kind of rusty with magicks, often causing spells to backfire, misfire, or only take partial effect—for example, its glamours can't disguise its plush nature. It tends not to bother with magicks, but will occasionally use them.
Imagination works for Echo through play made reality. It can fly, because it is a bat, with wings. That its wings aren't attached to its body, or that it lacks the aerodynamic form, or wing to body ratio required for flight doesn't come into it. Similarly, it can substitute devices it is unable to use—such as touch-capacative smartphones, or anything that requires basic manual dexterity—with a toy version of it. I do wanna figure out how to get my brain in a position to write some stuff, 'cause I think there's a lot of fun to be had with this power.
