I think a lot of the current vote reflects primarily tactical voting, to get the Tories out. I think Reform getting support is because part of the British public will always hold rascist, fascist views - it's the legacy of Empire. Tories & the media hating migrants drives the conversation rightward.
At the same time Lib Dems picking up traction is a good sign. Greens getting more seats is a good sign. All of that is despite less media coverage! Ed Davey having to stunt his way into the news worked, and once he got there, he attracted more voters.
That is what the groups with more progressive social policies than Labour are doing, but with much less media coverage.
If the Lib Dems and Greens can get or generate more media coverage, and harness more tactically minded voters, there's still an opportunity to build on.
