Thinking about shapeshifters that can generally change shape/size but not how they -look-, if you know what I mean.

Like, you’ve always got the same markings and colors and general anatomical themes even if you’re squeezing them into “humanoid”, “quad creature”, “sea creature”, “flying creature”, “kaiju”, etc.

So even if they want to blend in, they can’t help but be themselves regardless.

Shapeshifting more or less has that rule in our setting, at least in the method of Form Sculpting. No matter how Different you might end up shaped, you're always gonna end up with the same color eyes, color patterns, and certain other features that are considered "immutable." Even those who are (semi)permanently transformed, regardless of means, retain at least some semblance of who they were.

However, Self Sculpting is a different story entirely
