Shilo Village feels bad, because it doesn't fit the typical conventions of a RuneScape quest. There's an area full of aggressive monsters and objects you interact with through textboxes. Because of the density of monsters, the safest option is to try to spam through the dialogue. Most of these are things that wouldn't normally require dialogue—look-at isn't a normal RuneScape verb, search normally outputs to the chatbox, and agility shortcuts don't have a confirmation unless they're dumping you in Wildy or similar.

At one point I died because the text explaining what I was doing wrong (trying to open a door while holding a key, instead of using the key on the door—another break from conventions) was interrupted by the enemy attacking me.

Which is all to say, I can access Shilo Village now, and with it the gem rocks. I have already used this power to get ny Hunter up with rings of tracking—not what the wiki recommends on iron, but I used all our marrentil on antidotes and don't want to deal with bankless Fossil Island either; so waiting for some good drops and construction exp to bother with Bone Voyage.

Next plans include bashing out The Grand Tree for easier transport out of the Gnome Stronghold, making it a convenient place to buy chocolate for energy pots for herb exp. Trying to hit 30 on that to dump all our wasy achievement lamps into it.
