EDIT: Apparently Welsh just reverses adjective order for compound words all the time? It still reads weird.

A fun genre of Welsh words is "calques from English that fail to account for adjective order". For example, pineapple (an apple1 with the qualities of a pine[cone]) becomes pinafal (implicitly a pine[cone] with the qualities of an apple). Cathbysgod (catfish) is another one, leading to my first guess on the meaning of the word being fishercat.

  1. In the archaic meaning of "non-berry fruit".
