Beams absolutely put too much stock in long term planning, at least from a strategic view. Operation Capri-Sunset culminating in only escaping the playoffs by tiebreaker, when we were meant to be getting those sweet enhanced party time boosts was... hilarious. And then wildcarding into the Underchampionship and unwinning that. If we could go from playoff contenders to underchampions with zero changes to the team, it does seem like the optimal play is just "get into the playoffs every season, eventually you'll get lucky".1
Yet despite all this, I don't feel like NEW Steal Best Pitcher is particularly high on my blessing list. Because Beams aren't about pitching. We're about hitting the ball hard. I guess I want the Beams to be the best Beams, not the best team.
Still mad we never got a Season 23 Blaseball Roundup where the Anchor would have to acknowledge the Beams. Although frankly, I'm sure he would have insulted us, and I don't think I'd even be able to argue with him.
