what if u made an appointment with a doctor that does informed consent in your area, as a meme. that would be such a funny joke. the look on everyone's faces would be epic.
Too add to the above, if there is no informed consent clinic close by, you could try one of the twlehealth services. Like queerdoc, folx or plume... Assuming ofc this is in the USA and you live in a country that allows for this.
This assumes the barrier is neither financial or due to insurance but is due to gatekeeping. If it's familial and your safety is a priority that is also another possible barrier...
Another possibility is to look into grants from the services I mentioned. Someone recommended me point of pride before but there are likely others. But at most that will only get you HRT for up to a year. So yeah...
i feel this a lot. definitely had my fair share of this phrase, but things got better for me after i stuck to it ! its rough getting it started and scary but i feel like it paid off, and i think u should give urself that opportunity if you're able. best of luck ..!!!!!!!!!!!
go to howard brown health, theyre a queer/trans focused doctors office. they have a couple locations but at the one on sheridan ave on the red line they have things on certain friday nights where you can literally just drop in and get started
I dunno if this helps, but as someone with ADHD, I've found that effective ADHD motivators (extrinsic or intrinsic) can be broken down into the acronym NICUP: novelty, interest, challenge, urgency, and passion. So while most non-ADHD people can just be like "I need to do X, so I'll just go do it", maybe translate your generalized desire into a specific motivator that works for your brain.
Hehe... we have since started on dexedrine, and somehow it solves every single one of our ADHD symptoms. Including, seemingly, the inability to daydream!
So far, we've had 2 days of comfort, happiness, and the freedom to get up and do chores whenever we damn well feel like. On top of that, we're able to get food as soon as we feel hungry, which is really great.
We've been told that the comfort and happiness will probably go away over time, since we did just begin, but it should still continue to treat ADHD. We're very hopeful that we've found something that actually works for us.
I haven't yet written a post about this but I totally plan to after we've been on the meds for a bit longer~
