- Profile banners use a weird aspect ratio, but @TallanCat made a template.
- Cohost will not recompress your images. This does mean you have to compress them yourselves, but crucially, the image will look exactly as you uploaded it. I do not have particular suggestions of free compression tools, but as long as you avoid crunchy jpeg compression you'll probably end up with something better looking than other sites' automatic compression.
- The image/audio size cap is 5MB for regular users, and 10MB for cohost plus subscribers.
Except right now it appears to be 500kB for everyone due to server issues.Resolved - Specifically regarding icons, if it's too big consider lowering the resolution. On our 1080p monitor icons are never rendered at above 144x144 pixels.
- Animated GIFs can be used as profile pictures. GIFs downscale poorly, so may become more difficult to read at lower resolutions. (i.e. in notifications or comments)
- Icons also support transparency.
- Put a \ before >:3 at the start of a line to stop markdown rendering it as ":3".
- Press the ? on the post composer for a good intro to markdown and a some easy and useful HTML.
