there needs to be an accepted norm of people taking a couple years off to learn nothing in particular. to just go out into the world and notice things about it and feel connected to it. to not gain any practical skills except how to tell one plant from another or to describe the skies or to know how the moon moves intimately, to have convoluted yet utterly inapplicable mathematical diagrams in your notebooks, to learn which berries taste sweetest
it needs to be accepted that sometimes wasting time is the best way to spend your time. when it's on your own terms and makes you feel connected to the world and people around you
It is so nice to take a little time to yourself to wander about and exist! Taking time to see the sights and discover yourself!
I did this and I find there is so much undiscovered beauty! Like the way the moon reflects a sickly green aura once a month. Like how if you study this aura you start to hear the voices. It's so moving when you find the alleyways where the light is eaten by an invisible force and nothing is there but the perfect black~ Everyone should have the chance to dive into the inky black and come out the other side different in seemingly minor ways, that add up to an immitation of your previous self. After my journey of discovery I found that I had small unnoticeable gills, and a third arm slowly growing from my right side, and to be honest I've never felt more in touch with myself and with the creature that lurks below! 😍🤩
