i feel bad for how shallow this feels but the website loading swiftly makes me way more likely to load it more. how ironic that this will increase load and make the site go slower

good news: the website is actually not really limited by CPU load, so you can load it way more often and it's not a problem
(the bottleneck is the number of SQL queries we run to render the dashboard, each of which is actually super fast but we're still running too many of them, and for boring ops reasons the round-trip latency makes them all about 5x slower than they should be rn)
