Despite Star Wars churning out dozens of licensed games in the late 90s, the Sega Saturn missed out on any of them.

A few years ago, however, a prototype was unearthed for Star Wars: Rebel Strike, which was pitched for the console. The limited demo contains a small, open level that can be run with a speeder or a walker. There is also a backend menu with things like a model viewer.

As always, you can find the game on the resourceful archive.org. May the 4th be with you✨

It always gets me that the Sega Saturn is the ONLY major game system without some form of Pac-Man on it. The Game Gear has Pac-Man! The CD-i has Ms. Pac-Man! The Dreamcast has Pac-Man, albeit a crappy conversion! What does the Sega Saturn have? It ain't got jack for Pac.

I mean, I know why this happened (Namco was deep in the sack with Sony through most of the late 1990s), but it never will not annoy me. A game system without a Pac-Man game of any kind? Unless you're a V-Smile or a Supervision, there's just no excuse.

We dip into that era where several Japanese companies were starting their exclusive relationships with platforms. Square famously ditched Nintendo for Sony as well. Saturn had its fair share of exclusives. Where else are you gonna play Bug and its sequel, Bug 2 😲
