i was looking up photos of Famiclones for a Discord conversation and came across... this. a Famiclone shoved in a WaveBird shell. everything about this is awful. why did they keep the (almost certainly 100% decorative) analog stick? why didn't they put the d-pad there instead? why does it have FIVE buttons? why did they shove start/select in the c-stick hole? what is this color scheme? what the fuck is that second controller?? GUN???

More knockoffs need to come in outrageous form factors.

yes, i know, it was more of a reaction at how it is literally just... a gun. not a stylized zapper-style gun, not a futuristic laser gun, just. gun

though at least they gave it an orange cap on the front. not sure my Super Joy III even had this

I used to have a Power Player (a.k.a. Super Joy III), a Famiclone complete with a built-in "zillion-in-one" multicart where they got the number by duplicating games, that was encased in a Nintendo 64 controller mold and came in a box with a random still from Star Wars Episode One: The Phantom Menace. The battery pack was in the Controller Pak area and it was just slightly too small to fit all four batteries while allowing the lid to stay on. Madness. It also had a controller slot in the back and I just have to imagine trying to play an NES game with the massive American cartridges sticking out of the back. Good times.
