Here's hopin' it's not just 5e with the numbers filed off
So the project started when WotC looked like they were going to revoke the OGL, and the idea was that it was going to be a legally distinct but still compatible 5e engine that would allow third parties to continue to make 5e compatible content. In that context, it made sense. What didn't make sense was the fact that they bothered continuing after WotC backtracked so hard they put the 5.1 SRD in an irrevocable creative commons license. Or the fact that they clearly didn't even bother proofreading their playtest documents. Or that the kickstarter was somehow hugely successful. I legitimately don't understand why anyone wants this.
